On Sunday, I ran in the Marine Corps Marathon for the third year in a row. Not only did I run my fastest pace for the first half, I took six full minutes off of last year’s time and a solid minute off of 2009. I met my goal and think I’ll stick with 10-milers and half-marathons for awhile.

I’ve also been very busy with the FotoWeek blog, returning as editor for the third year.

FotoWeek DC opens this Friday - be sure to make it down to FotoWeek Central, in the former Borders store, at 18th & L Streets NW. Check the blog for lots of good info on exhibits there and at participating galleries!

Now, rather than hunting for a specific article, they can all be accessed through these links, also embedded in the bio section right above in the header, for easy future access.

All posts can be found on their very own page, sorted by date, with a link to the original piece, and will be updated as new ones are published: Smithsonian Studio Arts blog, DCist, and Examiner.

The FotoWeek blog is a little more complicated since there are so many posts, so just visit the blog to see the latest news.

Opening reception of The Polaroid Retrospective II show at Lamont Bishop Gallery on April 9, 2011. Photo by Ian Delaney Doherty.

My work can be seen in several shows around Washington, D.C., in the month of May.

MOCA DC’s In Black and White show opening tonight (May 6) in Georgetown from 6 to 11 p.m. and will remain on view through May 28. The show will featuring a diverse collection of work in all mediums in the theme of black and white. The reception will include a Masquerade Ball with cash prizes for best black and white costume and best original costume, plus glow in the dark body painting.
MOCA DC Gallery, Canal Square, 1054 31st, NW Washington, DC 20007

As a Patron of artdc.org, artists get a few perks, like being in a show. The artdc Gallery’s Patron Show opens on May 14 in Hyattsville with a reception from 7 to 10 p.m. This all-media exhibit is a collection of the best work by supporters of artdc Gallery, and coincides with several other receptions and open studios in the Hyattsville Arts District. The show will run through June 5.

Due to popularity and heavy traffic, The Polaroid Retrospective II has been extended for another week at the Lamont Bishop Gallery. Don’t miss this showing of inventive photographs celebrating the iconic instant film. And, you can see my latest emulsion transfers.

And, if you haven’t gotten your own copy of the DCist Exposed Photography Show 5th Anniversary Magazine, they can still be ordered online at Magcloud or through Heather Goss, Managing and Arts Editor, DCist.com. I have several copies and plan on buying more - it’s that good!
